Let there be spring!

Hi Friends!

First of all March went by so fast and was filled with so many cool rainbow events and people that in all the madness your humble monthly update provider (aka: me) forgot to add a new post here on our website. As a small consolation you’ll get two months worth of update for the price of one!

First of all we had our annual DC Great Big Bake Off. We’ve never had so many wonderful people and cakes packed into one room before. The competition was fierce, but fair and in the end the grand prize went to Alexander and his three layered Oreo cake with a giant cookie on top!

We also revisited ARoS and watched the “A New Dynasty – Created in China” exhibit on March the 16th. A lot of new faces turned up and after all that art and sophisticated culture some of us had buildt up a proper beer thirst and the night ended at Café Guldhornene

Awesome events coming up in the near future

First on the agenda we have our Social Wednesday April 6th. One of our own awesome members will be by to give a brief talk about AIDS Fondet in Aarhus and what services they provide. Afterwards we’ll bring some board games and of course, as per usual, there’ll be cake and coffee en masse. It’s guaranteed to be a great evening, check out the link to our FB event here.

Now for the main event of April 2016. Remember back in early November we announced that DiverseCity had been awarded 10.000 kr by Aarhus Kommune. Finally all that hard work is going out into the world! We’ve made sure to get all the elements together for an unforgettable evening and now all we need is you! We have arranged for two speakers to join us. One will be talking about the LGBT+ rights movement in Denmark and the other will tell us a bit about her current work in AIDS Fondet and Normstormerne. Unfortunately the event will be in Danish for any international members, but for everyone else here is the link the our FB event. This won’t be a night exclusively for DC members, but instead a chance to mingle and create bonds across different LGBT+ organisations in Aarhus, so feel free to share the event with anyone who might find it interesting.

And one final thing…

On May 4th our Social Wednesday event will double as an annual general meeting. We’ll be electing new members to the board and talking about where you, our lovely members, want to see DC going in the future. If you have anything to add to the nights agenda feel free to write to us on our FB page or to our e-mail address: board@diversecity.dk. And also consider whether or not you want to run for board member. You are also more than welcome to write questions on what that might entail (mostly drinking a lot of coffee and talking a lot) or come up to us and ask us at future events.

That’s it for now folks.

See you soon  – lots of love
